Why did you select UAMS for your residency training?
I had a great time rotating here as a 4th year medical student. Both my wife and I immediately felt included by the current residents during my month spent in Little Rock. My wife and I loved all the residents, and it seemed like everyone had a great time working together.  Combining that with the staff I was able to work with made this an easy choice.
How would describe your training so far?
We absolutely get world class training here at UAMS. The quality of the staff here is second to none. The faculty are fantastic teachers and great mentors to learn orthopaedics from. I have always felt like the focus was not only on myself but also my family from the staff. Everyday I get to hang out with some of my best friends. That’s how I would describe work and the culture of our residency from my standpoint. Adding in the clinic and operating room staff, I feel very fortunate to be here.

What do you like about living in Little Rock?
My favorite things about Little Rock are the food and the variety of things to do close by at an affordable price. Floating rivers, hikes, golf, lakes, etc. It’s also a great place for young families with lots of things to do with young children in the city (I have 2 daughters, 3 and 11 months old).

Why did you select UAMS for your residency training?
UAMS provides an excellent combination of academics and operative experience to afford residents a wide array of practice opportunities and competency in a variety of specialties within orthopaedics.
How would describe your training so far?
Resident teamwork and camaraderie are a highlight of the program.  Residents support each other, and upper levels consistently provide quality teaching.  Faculty are dedicated to resident learning and success.
What do you like about living in Little Rock?
Little Rock and Arkansas in general are filled with outdoor opportunities for hunting, fishing, kayaking, biking, running, and more.  While large enough for amenities, Little Rock remains small enough for quick and easy transportation around town and when traveling between clinics.
