Comprehensive Training in Specialized Hospitals

HospitalsResidents gain educational and clinical experience in a number of locations, thanks to sites affiliated with the UAMS College of Medicine and the UAMS Medical Center. As a resident, you’ll treat patients at UAMS, a Level I adult trauma center at the state’s only health sciences university, as well as our affiliate hospitals, including Arkansas Children’s Hospital and the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital (Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System) located in Little Rock.  First year residents will also have a two-month rotation in general surgery at CHI St. Vincent and a one-month rotation in the Emergency Department at Baptist Health.

Training in these diverse environments will introduce you to the principles of sound orthopaedic science and provide you with a broad range of clinical experiences—in the operating room, emergency department, and many different outpatient settings.
