Resident Education Training Facilities
Our residents and fellows have the unique opportunity to train at multiple UAMS locations and affiliate facilities, providing them with exposure to a wide variety of patients and cases. Training in these diverse environments will introduce you to the principles of sound orthopaedic science and provide you with a broad range of clinical experiences—in the operating room, emergency department, and many different outpatient settings.

The Orthopaedic & Spine Hospital
The Orthopaedic & Spine Hospital at UAMS stands as the most specialized of its kind in Arkansas, offering patients access to the latest technology and most advanced orthopaedic and spine care delivered bya premier team of experts. Dedicated educational spaces include an orthopaedic bioskills lab, large conference room, multipurpose classroom, and a spacious resident lounge.

UAMS Medical Center
UAMS Medical Center is the only adult Level I Trauma Center in Arkansas and serves as the state’s referral center for the most complex medical and surgical conditions. As part of UAMS Health, the statewide health system of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), it provides advanced specialty care supported by cutting-edge research, education, and innovation.

Arkansas Children’s Hospital
Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) is a 336-bed pediatric hospital and the state’s only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. Together with Arkansas Children’s Northwest in Springdale, the health system provides specialized pediatric care to children throughout Arkansas and the surrounding region. UAMS physicians serve across both campuses, delivering comprehensive pediatric orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine services.

John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital
The John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital, part of the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS), provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for Veterans throughout the region. As a major teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), it supports the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows through more than 65 accredited educational programs.
