UAMS Health Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon Theresa Wyrick, M.D. named 2023 Castle Connolly Exceptional Woman in Medicine

Theresa Wyrick, MD, has been recognized as a 2023 Castle Connolly Top Doctor — the fifth consecutive time she has received the prestigious Top Doctor honor. Only about 7 percent of the nation’s licensed physicians are selected annually as Castle Connolly Top Doctors in their regions for their specialties.

An orthopaedic hand surgeon with UAMS Health and Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Dr. Wyrick also has been named by Castle Connolly as one of this year’s Exceptional Women in Medicine.

Dr. Wyrick specializes in a wide variety of conditions and disorders and injuries to the hand and wrist, from common problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and arthritis, to more complex issues, like hand and finger replants and revascularization procedures.

Dr. Wyrick serves as section chief of hand and upper extremity surgery at UAMS Health and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She is also an associate professor of medicine and Vice Chair of Faculty Development in the UAMS Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, as well as the Assistant Dean of Faculty Affairs and Development in the UAMS College of Medicine.
