Benjamin Stronach, M.D., Becomes UAMS’ Fourth Total Joint Replacement Surgeon

By Linda Satter

Stronach will be seeing patients at the UAMS Health Orthopaedic Clinic at 2 Shackleford W Blvd. in Little Rock.

He is UAMS’ fourth total joint replacement surgeon and comes to Arkansas from the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation, where he has practiced since 2011.

He was previously an orthopaedic fellow at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City after completing his residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he received his medical degree in 2005.

Among Stronach’s achievements are the development of three surgical orthopaedic products that have been submitted for patents and are awaiting various stages of approval. He has even turned his interest in bones and joints into art, resulting in two of his sculptures – called Hip Stem in Bronze and Sacred – being featured in an art publication at the University of Mississippi.

Stronach was named Professor of the Year by his department for the 2015-2016 school year and won the Juror’s Choice Award in 2003 in the University of Alabama’s School of Medicine art competition.
