Dear AAHKS Members:
I have reflected on events of the past ten days, the continued racial injustice and violence in our country and resulting anguish. We abhor this and stand ready to do our part as our society moves forward to eliminate the systemic causes of racial disparity and discrimination.
Within our sphere of influence, AAHKS is committed to continue promoting diversity and inclusiveness, eliminating barriers to equality of treatment for our patients and correcting the underrepresentation and marginalizing of minorities within our subspecialty. As AAHKS members, your support for our organization advances advocacy efforts and programs and activities to achieve these ends.
The question remains, what more can we, as an organization, do? I invite response from all our members and others, especially those directly affected and whose voices have not been heard. We can DO better. We can BE better!
