Hand Specialist Sean Morell, M.D., Joins UAMS Orthopaedics
Sean Morell, M.D., has joined the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) as specialist in hand surgery.
“I am very excited to be returning to UAMS to work alongside my academic and professional mentors,” said Morell. “After nearly 15 years working toward a medical education in Arkansas, I look forward to giving back to this state and the people here.”
Morell is a 2013 graduate of UAMS, where he also completed his residency in orthopaedics in 2018. For the past year, he has been participating in the Orthopaedic Hand Surgery Fellowship at the University of Colorado, Denver. Prior to medical school, Morell attended Arkansas Tech University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
“Sean is an excellent addition to our orthopaedics team,” said C. Lowry Barnes, M.D., chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. “We look forward to working with him and to everything he will bring to our staff, residents and patients.”
Morell, also an assistant professor, will see patients at the UAMS Orthopaedic Clinic on Autumn Road in Little Rock, at UAMS Baptist Health Orthopaedic Clinic in Conway and at Arkansas Children’s. While a native English speaker, he also speaks basic Spanish.
