Virtual Visiting  Student Rotation Program

Complete our Interest Form for more information.
Like other academic medical centers across the United States who are following the recommendations of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), visiting away rotations at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) have been suspended for the 2020-2021 academic year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In response, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UAMS is developing a virtual visiting medical student rotation for students who are interested in learning more about our orthopaedic residency training program.
If you would like to to receive communication on our upcoming virtual opportunities to interact with our program, please complete the information in the MS4 Interest Request Form.
Students who are accepted to our virtual visiting medical student rotation can expect to obtain the following experiences:
  • participation in our weekly Tuesday morning academic conference, which includes three hour-long lectures on topics in orthopaedic surgery, orthopaedic basic science, and the practice of orthopaedic medicine
  • participation in weekly sub-specialty didactic lectures, topic reviews, and case-based didactics
  • Interaction and mentorship from faculty members and orthopaedic residents to understand the benefits of our training program and to help navigate the residency application process
