Welcome to our Virtual Elective Rotation Program!

The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at UAMS has developed a four-week virtual elective rotation to allow interested students to get a first-hand account of our program. It will highlight our institution, our department, and substantial case volume as well as showcase our committment to resident education.  You will have the opportunity to interact with faculty and residents to learn, ask questions, and have fun!

Four-week virtual rotations are offered in October and November 2021!

Students who are accepted to our virtual visiting medical student rotation can expect to obtain the following experiences:

  • Participation in our weekly Tuesday morning academic conference, which includes three hour-long lectures on topics in orthopaedic surgery, orthopaedic basic science, and the practice of orthopaedic medicine.
  • Participation in weekly sub-specialty didactic lectures, topic reviews, and case-based didactics.
  • Interaction and mentorship from faculty members and orthopaedic residents to understand the benefits of our training program and to help navigate the residency application process.

Any students who are interested in applying for our Orthopedic Surgery Virtual Visiting Medical Student Rotation should complete the Online Application.
